Client Overview

How to make the best out of the overview section on a client profile

Written by Navyaa Sharma

Executive Summary

  • Every client profile has an Overview tab. What you see there depends on whether the record is an individual or a group, and on the available client data.

  • A group profile includes its Members. An individual profile includes contact details and its linked Groups.

  • Key Insights can surface the client's assets and liabilities, risk profile, opportunities, milestones, products advised on, potential gaps, life stage, and advice provided when Marloo has relevant data.

  • You cannot manually edit or export the overview. To change what it shows, update the source data.

  • Copy and paste overview text if you need to use it elsewhere.

What the Client Overview Shows

The Overview tab is an auto-generated client workspace. It pulls together information from meetings, files, emails, notes, and documents. What you see depends on whether the record is an individual or a group, and on the information available.

Summary

The Summary gives you a current narrative of the client's situation and highlights the details Marloo has found across their profile. It shows when it was last updated.

Groups and Members

For a group or family profile, Members lists the people attached to that group. Select a member to open their individual client record.

For an individual profile, Groups lists the groups the person belongs to. Select a group to open its profile.

Key Insights

Key Insights turns available client data into adviser-ready cards. Depending on the data in the profile, these can include:

  • Assets and liabilities

  • Risk profile

  • Opportunities and potential gaps

  • Milestones and life stage

  • Products advised on and advice provided

Treat these insights as a starting point for review. Check the underlying meeting, file, email, or note before relying on them in regulated advice.

Activity timeline

When the profile has activity, the timeline is a chronological record of meetings, documents, and files. Select an item to open the source record.

How the Overview Updates

The overview regenerates automatically when new information is added to the client profile, such as a new meeting summary, an updated note, or an uploaded file. There is a short delay as the system waits for activity to settle before regenerating.

You cannot manually trigger a regeneration. You cannot directly edit the overview text.

The only way to change what the overview shows is to update the source data. For example:

  • Correct an error in a transcript, then let the overview regenerate.

  • Upload a more recent document with updated figures.

  • Add a note with clarifying details.

The overview will regenerate to reflect the updated information.

FAQs

Can I export the overview?

Not currently. As a workaround, you can copy and paste the overview text into a document.

The overview shows outdated information.

Check the source that the outdated information came from. This is usually a transcript or uploaded document. Correct the information at the source, and the overview will regenerate with the updated data.

How do I add more detail to the overview?

Upload additional documents to the client profile. The more context Marloo has, the more comprehensive the overview becomes.

Why doesn't one of my clients have an overview yet?

The overview builds from new activity on the profile, such as a meeting summary, an uploaded file, or a note. It does not backfill automatically for content that was already on the profile before this feature was switched on, so an older client can look empty even though they have past meetings logged. Add any new note or file and the overview generates within a few minutes.
