Get Started with the Mobile App

Record in-person meetings, capture Microsoft Teams calls your bot can't join, and review transcripts on the go with the Marloo mobile app.

Written by Hardy Michel

This article shows you how to record in-person meetings and review transcripts on your phone. Recordings stay on the device until they upload - if signal is weak, reopen the app on Wi-Fi and tap the pending upload rather than assuming it failed.

Choose how you'll use the mobile app

The mobile app supports three common workflows. Start with the one that best matches what you're trying to do.

  1. Record in-person meetings: Record face-to-face conversations when you're away from your desk, including client meetings, café catch-ups, site visits and events.

  2. Record Microsoft Teams calls: Use your phone to record Microsoft Teams calls that your meeting bot can't join. Join the call on your computer and play the audio through your computer speakers while recording with the mobile app.

  3. Review meetings on the go: Read transcripts, search previous conversations and catch up on meetings wherever you are. Previously viewed transcripts remain available offline.

Sign in to the mobile app

Once you open the app, sign in using the same login details you use for the desktop website. Follow the on-screen prompts to complete the login process.

Enable notifications

Turn on notifications so you receive alerts from the app.

  1. Tap Settings (top right of your screen) > Notifications.

  2. Turn on Allow notifications.

If you don't see Notifications as an option, update the Marloo app to the latest version.

Record in-person meetings

The mobile app is primarily designed for recording face-to-face conversations when you're away from your computer.

Examples include:

  • Meeting a client at their office

  • Catching up in a café

  • Visiting a worksite

  • Attending an event

Simply start a recording from the app. Your recording uploads and processes automatically when you're connected to the internet.

Record Microsoft Teams calls

The mobile app also supports recording Microsoft Teams calls that your existing meeting bot can't join.

To record successfully:

  1. Join the Teams call on your computer.

  2. Make sure your computer audio is playing through your computer speakers, not headphones.

  3. Place your phone close to your computer speakers.

  4. Start recording from the mobile app before the conversation begins.

Note: The mobile app cannot record phone calls made on the same mobile device. If you receive or make a phone call while recording, the recording stops. When possible, the app automatically resumes recording as a new recording.

Review meetings on the go

Use the app to catch up on conversations wherever you are. You can:

  • View meetings

  • Read transcripts

  • Search previous conversations

Previously viewed transcripts remain available offline, making it easy to catch up while travelling or without an internet connection.

What to expect when recording

If you experience any issues with our mobile app, refer to our Troubleshooting article.

Continue recording while offline

If you lose your internet connection, you can continue recording as normal. Your recordings are saved securely on your device and upload automatically when you're back online.

While offline, you can:

  • Start new recordings

  • View meetings you've already opened

  • Read transcripts that have already been downloaded

Both recordings upload and process independently.

Bluetooth microphones switch automatically

If you start recording with a Bluetooth microphone or headset, the app uses that microphone.

If it disconnects during recording, the app automatically switches to your phone's microphone so recording can continue. To use the Bluetooth microphone again, reconnect it and begin a new recording.

Manage App Lock

App Lock protects access to your recordings and meetings. Choose from:

  • Device unlock: Use Face ID or your device's biometric authentication.

  • Marloo PIN: Create a 4-digit PIN.

  • Don't lock: Leave the app accessible without an additional lock.

To change your App Lock:

  1. Open Settings.

  2. Select Account settings.

  3. Sign in when prompted.

  4. Select Change, then choose your preferred App Lock option.
