Using the NEOS Integration

How to use the NEOS MCP to run insurance pricing, compare products and populate your advice documents without leaving Marloo

Written by Hardy Michel

Executive Summary

Connect NEOS in Settings > Integrations to run insurance pricing, compare products and pull the results straight into your advice documents, without leaving Marloo and without re-quoting manually.

You drive the integration through Ask Marloo. Ask for a quote, adjust the cover or ownership, then ask Marloo to populate your policy recommendations and appendix in a single conversation.

What the NEOS integration does

The NEOS integration connects Marloo to NEOS through NEOS's own MCP tool, so you can price and research insurance from inside Marloo. Rather than quoting in NEOS and re-keying the figures, you can ask Marloo to:

  • quote Life, TPD and Income Protection across NEOS, Futura Protection and Encompass Protection

  • read the recommended sums insured out of a document you have already generated

  • use the client's occupation, occupation class and income from their record, and the waiting period from the document

  • summarise monthly and annual premiums, combined totals, and any discounts that applied

  • restructure cover (for example Life and TPD inside super, Income Protection outside) and re-quote

  • research policy terms and underwriting guidelines

  • populate your policy recommendations, premium comparisons, expected commissions and appendix projections

Connecting NEOS

Go to Settings > Integrations.

Click Connect next to NEOS.

Sign in with your NEOS account and grant the requested permissions.

Once connected, NEOS is available to you through Ask Marloo.

Note: you need your own NEOS account to use the integration. Connect with your own NEOS credentials.

Before you start

Complete the insurance needs analysis for the client and generate the document you want the pricing to flow into. Marloo reads the recommended levels of cover out of that document, so quoting works best once the needs analysis and recommended sums insured are in place.

Make sure the client's occupation and income are recorded, as these drive the occupation class and the premium.

Running a quote

Open the document in review mode and ask Marloo for the quote in the chat. Name the clients, point it at the sums insured in the document, and name the alternatives you want compared.

Example of a well-structured prompt:

Can you use the NEOS MCP to generate a quote for John and Jane Smith, recommending the sums insured as outlined inside the document. Please use Futura and Encompass as the alternatives.

Example of an incomplete prompt:

Get me a NEOS quote for the Smiths.

Marloo reads the document for the recommended cover, finds the client's occupation, income and closest occupation class, takes the waiting period from the document, then quotes all three products. It returns a summary of Life, TPD and Income Protection with monthly costs, annual premiums and a combined total across the products, and sets out which discounts have been applied, such as a multi-policy discount or a discount for an attached TPD rider.

Quotes run in the background and can take a little time. Larger requests are split into several steps, so give it a moment before retrying.

Adjusting cover and re-quoting

You do not need to start again to change the structure. Ask Marloo in plain language and it re-runs the pricing.

Can you help me update my Life and TPD to be owned inside of super, and my income protection to be retained outside of super.

Populating your document

Once you are happy with the pricing, ask Marloo to write it into the document. Be specific about who you are recommending, what the alternatives are, and anything extra you want included.

Using this information and pricing, can you help me populate my policy recommendations? Recommending NEOS as the insurer and using the Futura and Encompass quotes as alternative product comparisons. In my appendix, can you also add in the full 5 year projections for the NEOS quotes.

Marloo populates:

  • annual premiums against each recommended cover, including fields previously left as TBD

  • the premium comparison of current cover versus the recommended amounts

  • the section on the consequences of replacing cover

  • the recommended product, with the alternatives written up alongside

  • expected commissions for the recommended and alternative policies

  • the five year cumulative projections in your appendix

By default the alternatives are written as their own section. If you would rather see them as a column in the recommended product table, try specifying that in your prompt.

Current limitations

Unfortunately, PDF quote illustrations are currently not available. NEOS recently updated their MCP and removed the step that generated PDF versions of the quote, so Marloo cannot produce an illustration to save to the client file. Pricing, comparisons and document population are unaffected.

Troubleshooting

Problem

Solution

NEOS won't connect

Check that you signed in with the correct NEOS account and granted all requested permissions. Disconnect and reconnect in Settings > Integrations if needed.

A quote seems stuck

Quotes run in the background, and larger requests are split into several steps. Give it a moment before retrying.

The premiums look wrong

Check the occupation class, income and waiting period Marloo used. These drive the premium and should always be reviewed before you rely on the pricing.

Marloo quoted the wrong sums insured

Confirm the recommended levels of cover in the document are correct, then ask it to re-quote against them.

The alternatives came out as a separate section

Ask for them as a column in the recommended product table in your prompt.

No PDF illustration was produced

PDF versions of the quote are not currently available through the NEOS MCP. See Current limitations above.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need a NEOS account to use this?

Yes. The integration connects Marloo to your existing NEOS account; it doesn't replace NEOS.

Which products can I quote?

Life, TPD and Income Protection through NEOS, along with Futura Protection and Encompass Protection for comparison.

Can I compare insurers other than Futura and Encompass?

The integration runs through NEOS's own tool, so the products available are the ones NEOS offers.

Can I ask about underwriting?

Yes. You can research policy terms and underwriting guidelines through the same integration.
