Importing your contacts from Wealthbox

How to export your data from Wealthbox and import it into Marloo.

Written by Navyaa Sharma

This guide walks you through importing your client and contact data from Wealthbox into Marloo. There are two parts: first you export your data out of Wealthbox, then you upload that file into Marloo.

Part 1: Export your data from Wealthbox

Before you can import, you'll need an export file from Wealthbox. To generate one:

  1. Log in to Wealthbox and go to Settings, then Data Backup.

  2. Click the green Request Export button.

  3. Wait for the export to generate. This usually takes 1–2 minutes — you may need to reload the page.

  4. Download the .json file to your computer.

Part 2: Upload your file to Marloo

  1. Log in to Marloo.

  2. Go to Settings, then Integrations.

  3. Scroll down to CRM Imports.

  4. Under Import type, choose Wealthbox as your source.

  5. In the upload area, import your .json or .zip file.

Once the file has uploaded successfully, a green popup will appear in the bottom-right corner of your window confirming the import.

What gets imported

Marloo imports the following from your Wealthbox export:

  • Clients: individuals, households, organizations (brought in as companies), and trusts.

  • Client details: name, emails and primary email, date of birth, phone, address, the type of each email, phone and address, and mailing address.

  • Tags: your Wealthbox tags and contact type come across as Marloo tags.

  • Meetings: your Wealthbox meetings, enriched from linked calendar events with their title, timing, description, location, conference link, attendees, and notes.

  • Notes: notes, comments, and opportunities tied to a contact are captured. Household roles and spouse details are captured too.

  • Tasks: with title, description, due date, status, priority, and related clients.
