Executive Summary
Connect RetireMap in Settings > Integrations to push client data into RetireMap and run retirement scenario modelling without leaving Marloo.
You drive the integration through Ask Marloo. Load a client's data, build any scenario by talking to the chat, and review the projections in a single conversation.
What the RetireMap integration does
The RetireMap integration connects Marloo to your RetireMap account so you can model a client's retirement scenarios from inside Marloo. Rather than re-keying client data into RetireMap manually, you can ask Marloo to:
transfer a client's full data set across, (e.g. dates of births, goals and objectives, assets and liabilities)
build the scenario and any other strategy you would like to model (e.g. maximising salary sacrifice, investing funds personally)
review any of the models and underlying data that have been built
extract the resulting data back into your documents
Connecting RetireMap
Go to Settings > Integrations.
Click Connect next to the RetireMap tile.
Sign in with your RetireMap account and grant the requested permissions.
Once connected, RetireMap is available to you through Ask Marloo.
Note: connect using your own RetireMap credentials. If your firm uses a shared or practice-level RetireMap login, check with your team about which account to use.
Pushing data into Retiremap and building scenarios
Marloo can read a client's information out of documents you've already uploaded or any meeting it has transcribed, using this information to populate the base case RetireMap model, so you don't have to type the figures in by hand.
You can then build any strategies you would like for modelling your own scenarios - contribution strategies, pension rollovers, investing with entities, by asking Marloo in plain language.
In short: describe the scenario you want to model and provide as much relevant information as possible. Marloo builds the scenario in RetireMap, where you can then check the modelling and present this to the client. You can also Ask Marloo to adjust an assumption, run a comparison, refine a strategy, without leaving the conversation.
Modelling actions can take a little time to run, as Marloo is building the scenario in RetireMap in the background.
Prompt guidance
To make sure the modelling is accurate, you should provide as much relevant information in the prompt as possible, or otherwise have it ask you clarifying questions.
Example of a well-structured prompt:
Clone the base scenario (v1) and add a new scenario called Super Strategies. Please salary sacrifice to the maximum available amounts starting this financial year for both clients whilst they are working full-time, and when they reach retirement age, commence an ABP and draw the minimum amount. Any surplus cashflow after the salary sacrifice should be redirected to paying down their mortgage.
Example of an incomplete prompt:
Create a new scenario where the clients maximise contributions.
Pulling client information from documents
Marloo can also pull any of the information generated in RetireMap back into your documents such as your SOAs, or for any other documents you use.
Troubleshooting
Problem | Solution |
RetireMap won't connect | Check that you signed in with the correct RetireMap account and granted all requested permissions. Disconnect and reconnect in Settings > Integrations if needed. |
A modelling action seems stuck | Scenario builds can take time to run in the background. Give it a moment before retrying. |
The projection figures look wrong | Review the data that was pushed into RetireMap. Extracted or pushed values should always be checked before you rely on a projection. |
Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need a RetireMap account to use this?
Yes. The integration connects Marloo to your existing RetireMap account; it doesn't replace RetireMap.
Does the data flow both ways?
The integration pushes client data into RetireMap and returns the scenario results to you in Marloo, where they can support your advice and document generation.
Can I model anything RetireMap supports?
The integration should support most of the tools you would use in RetireMap. If there are any specific modelling tools or scenarios that you are unable to build through the integration, please contact our support and let them know.
