Delete a transcript, recording or meeting

How long transcripts are kept, what Expired means, and how to delete a transcript or recording, a recording on the mobile app, or a whole meeting entry.

Written by Jessica Zhan

Transcripts are kept until you delete them. If your Account owner has set a retention period in Company settings, the audio is deleted when that period passes and the transcript shows as Expired. An expired transcript is read-only and its text can no longer be exported. Otherwise, deletion is manual.

Delete a transcript or recording

This removes the transcript and its audio but keeps the meeting entry, so you can upload a new file or paste a new transcript afterwards.

  1. Open the meeting from Meetings and go to the Transcript tab.

  2. Click Options next to the audio player, then Delete.

  3. Confirm. The transcript and audio are permanently removed.

On the mobile app

  1. Open the meeting under My Meetings.

  2. Swipe left on the recording. A red bin icon appears.

  3. Tap the bin. This cannot be undone.

Good to know

  • Summaries already generated from the transcript are not deleted. Remove those separately if needed.

Delete a meeting

How you delete the meeting entry depends on how it was added.

Synced from Google Calendar or Outlook

These cannot be deleted inside Marloo. Delete the event in your calendar app. Marloo syncs periodically and removes the entry after the next sync.

Created in Marloo

  1. Open the meeting.

  2. Click the three dots under the meeting title, then Delete.

  3. Confirm. This permanently deletes the meeting and everything on it: transcript, audio and summary. It cannot be undone.
