This guide walks you through importing your client and contact data from Redtail into Marloo. There are two parts: first you export your data out of Redtail, then you upload that file into Marloo.
Part 1: Export your data from Redtail
Before you can import, you'll need a database backup file from Redtail. To generate one:
Log in to Redtail and go to the database backups page.
Click Request Database Backup.
Wait for the backup to generate. This usually takes 1–2 minutes — you may need to reload the page.
Click the file name to download the
.sqlfile to your computer.
Part 2: Upload your file to Marloo
Log in to Marloo.
Go to Settings, then Integrations.
Scroll down to CRM Imports.
Under Import type, choose Redtail as your source.
In the upload area, import your
.sqlor.zipfile.
Once the file has uploaded successfully, a green popup will appear in the bottom-right corner of your window confirming the import.
What gets imported
Marloo imports the following from your Redtail backup:
Clients: individuals, companies and businesses, trusts, unions, and contact associations. Relationship labels and head-of-household details are also captured.
Client details: name, emails, date of birth, phone, and address.
Tags: your Redtail tags and lifecycle or status values come across as Marloo tags.
Extra detail: keywords, profile fields, URLs, social links, important information, custom fields, and tax profile fields are also captured.
Meetings: appointment activities come across as Marloo meetings, with their related contacts and notes.
Tasks: other activities come across as tasks, with subject, description, due date, status, priority, related contacts, and notes.
