Executive Summary
If a recording did not upload, connect to Wi-Fi, open the Marloo app, and retry. If that fails, restart your phone and try again.
Recording pauses can be caused by incoming phone calls or the screen locking. Press play to resume.
Blank audio is usually caused by a Bluetooth device connecting during the recording and taking over the microphone.
For virtual meetings, the Marloo bot is more reliable than phone recording.
Upload Failures
Upload issues are the most common mobile app problem. Follow the steps below for your specific situation.
Recording Did Not Upload After Finishing
Connect to a strong Wi-Fi network.
Open the Marloo app and find the offline recording.
Tap to upload.
If that does not work, restart your phone and try again.
If that still does not work, force close the Marloo app, reopen it, and retry the upload.
If the upload continues to fail after repeated attempts, contact Marloo support.
Upload Stuck or Spinning
Restart your phone.
Reopen the Marloo app.
Retry the upload.
If the upload is still stuck, try tapping Start New Recording in the same meeting to refresh the connection, then retry the upload.
Upload Failed Error
Check your internet connection. Switch to a different Wi-Fi network if possible.
Restart your phone.
Reopen the Marloo app and retry.
Recording Issues
Recording Paused Unexpectedly
There is a small chance that an incoming phone call, Siri activating, switching apps (especially ones that use your microphone) or the screen locking could pause the recording. If this happens, simply press play to resume. This is unlikely to occur but possible. The recording up to the pause point is preserved.
To prevent this, turn on Do Not Disturb and extend your screen auto-lock setting before recording.
No Audio in Recording or Blank Transcript
The most likely cause is a Bluetooth device that connected or another app was used during the recording and took over the microphone from the phone.
Before recording, make sure Bluetooth is turned off unless you already have a Bluetooth microphone connected that you intend to use. Smartwatches with microphone capability (such as fitness watches) can also silently take over the microphone if they connect mid-recording.
If this has already happened, the audio cannot be recovered. Try doing a voice note going over what you talked about ASAP so you don't lose everything.
Recording Under Wrong Meeting
If you recorded multiple conversations without starting a new Marloo meeting for each, the recordings will be combined under one entry. Always start a new meeting in the app for each separate conversation.
Contact Marloo support to split combined recordings.
Finding Your Recordings
Recording Not on Web Dashboard
Check the Past tab on the web dashboard (not Upcoming).
Refresh the page.
Check the Marloo mobile app for an offline recording that has not yet uploaded.
The meeting may appear as untitled. Look for recent entries without a name.
Recording Still in App as Offline
The recording is saved locally on your device. Connect to Wi-Fi and open the app. The upload will retry automatically, or you can tap the recording to upload manually.
For Virtual Meetings
For Teams, Zoom, or Google Meet calls, the Marloo bot is more reliable than phone recording. The bot captures all participants' audio directly from the meeting platform, while phone recording only captures what the device microphone picks up.
Use the Send Marloo Now button on the web dashboard to send the bot to your virtual meeting.
