Overview
We've redesigned the templates interface to give you better visibility, reduce clutter, and provide governance controls for teams. The new interface shows everything available to you in one place and makes it easy to manage who can create and edit templates.
What's New
Unified View: See all templates available to you at a glance, organised into clear tabs.
Team & Personal Tabs: Templates are now organised into two sections:
Team: Templates shared across your organisation that everyone can access
Personal: Your private templates that only you can see and use
Better Visibility: Every template now shows:
Who shared it
Who last updated it
When it was last modified
Governance Controls: Admins can now lock templates to prevent edits and control whether team members can create new templates.
Default Templates
When your company is set up, Marloo automatically creates relevant default templates based on the type of advice you offer. These are shared as team templates by default, so everyone on your team has immediate access to industry-standard templates.
Who Updated What
Every template now shows clear attribution:
Shared by: The person who originally shared the template with the team
Updated by: The person who most recently made changes
Last updated: When the most recent change was made
Viewing Update History
From the templates list, you can see at a glance:
Which templates were recently modified
Who made the changes
When the updates occurred
This visibility helps teams:
Track who's maintaining templates
Identify recently updated templates
Maintain accountability for template changes
Example
If you see a template showing "Updated by Sarah, 2 minutes ago", you know that Sarah recently made changes to that template. If you have questions about the changes, you know exactly who to ask.
Best Practices for Template Management
For Admins
1. Set up default templates first Review the templates Marloo creates automatically and customise them for your firm before your team starts using them.
2. Lock critical templates Use the "Prevent team edits" feature for templates that should remain consistent, like compliance-focused templates or firm-standard formats.
3. Consider disabling personal template creation For larger teams, this prevents template sprawl and ensures everyone uses approved templates.
4. Regularly review the templates list Check who's updating templates and ensure changes align with your firm's standards.
For Advisors
1. Check team templates first Before creating a new template, check if one already exists that meets your needs.
2. Use the right template for each meeting type Different meeting types may have specific templates designed for them.
3. If you need changes to a locked template Contact your admin to request modifications to locked templates.
4. Share useful templates If you create a personal template that works well, consider sharing it with your team (if you have permission).
