Executive Summary
Use the Marloo app to record in-person meetings directly from your phone.
You can start a recording from a scheduled meeting or use Quick Recording for unscheduled conversations.
After recording, connect to Wi-Fi and upload. Your recording will appear on the web dashboard under the Past tab.
For virtual meetings (Teams, Zoom, Google Meet), the Marloo bot is more reliable than phone recording.
Recording a Scheduled Meeting
Open the Marloo app and find the meeting you want to record from your upcoming meetings list.
Tap the meeting to open it.
Tap Start Recording.
Keep the app open and in the foreground for the duration of the meeting.
When the meeting is finished, tap Stop Recording.
The recording will begin uploading automatically if you are connected to Wi-Fi.
Starting a Quick Recording
If your meeting is not on your calendar, or you need to record an unscheduled conversation or dictated notes:
Tap the Quick Recording button at the bottom of the screen.
Tap Start Recording to begin.
When finished, tap Stop Recording.
Quick recordings work the same way as scheduled meeting recordings. The only difference is that they will not be linked to a calendar event.
After Recording
Uploading Your Recording
Stay connected to Wi-Fi and keep the app open. The recording will upload automatically.
If the upload does not complete, the recording is saved locally on your device.
Reopen the app when you have a stable Wi-Fi connection and the upload will retry.
What Appears on the Web App
Your recording will appear under the Past tab on the Marloo web dashboard. It may appear as an untitled meeting.
To complete the process:
Open the meeting on the web app.
Name the meeting.
Tag the relevant client.
Before You Start: Checklist
Before pressing record, check the following:
Do Not Disturb: Turn on. This prevents phone calls from interrupting the recording.
Bluetooth: Turn off, unless you already have a Bluetooth microphone connected. A Bluetooth device connecting during a recording can take over the microphone.
Screen auto-lock: Extend to the longest setting or disable. The screen locking could pause the recording.
Wi-Fi: Make sure Wi-Fi is available for uploading after the meeting.
App version: Update the Marloo app to the latest version.
If the Recording Pauses
There is a small chance that an incoming phone call or the screen locking could pause the recording. If this happens, simply press play to resume. This is unlikely to occur but possible. The recording up to the pause point is preserved.
For Virtual Meetings
For Teams, Zoom, or Google Meet calls, the Marloo bot is more reliable than phone recording. The bot captures all participants' audio directly from the meeting platform, while phone recording only captures what the device microphone picks up.
To use the bot, schedule your meeting through the Marloo web app or send the bot to a meeting using the Send Marloo Now button.
FAQs
Recording stopped mid-meeting.
Most likely the app went to the background. This can happen if a phone call comes in, you tap a notification, or Siri is activated. The recording up to that point is saved locally on your device. Open the app and look for the offline recording.
Nothing appears on the web dashboard.
Check the Marloo app for an offline recording that has not yet uploaded. Upload it on Wi-Fi. On the web dashboard, look under the Past tab (not Upcoming). The meeting may appear as untitled.
Can I record using the mobile browser?
No. Recording on mobile requires the Marloo app. You can use the mobile browser to access the web dashboard, but recording is only available through the app.
